TRIPS
In June 2007, the Year 5 and 6 visited London for to see the famous sights of our capital. They had a fabulous time and had great experiences. Another London trip will take place in the future. Here are some of the things the children did:
Visited the Natural History Museum
Full day sightseeing in Central London
Went to the Lyceum Theatre - 'Disney presents The Lion King'
Visited the Emirates Stadium - ARSENAL FC
Went on a River Thames cruise
Rode on the British Airways London Eye
Visited the Science Museum
Ate at restaurants in Central London
Here are some pictures from the trip:
Camps
In 2008 the Key Stage 2 (Juniors) will be going to Porthpean camp which is in South East Cornwall. The site overlooks Carlyon Bay and towards the port of Charlestown where the children go to see the tall ships. Activities include kayaking, sailing, problem solving, snorkeling, coasteering, climbing, archery, zip lines, sports, circus workshops and of course camping itself.
Every year in the summer term, the Year 3 and 4 children go camping. This year they will be going to the Roseland Centre on the Roseland Peninsula. They have so much fun and get a real taste of the outdoors just on their doorstep. Activities include problem solving, treasure hunts, water based activities, coastal walking and outdoor games.
Last year the Year 2 went to Tehidy for an afternoon and evening, where they played many games and finished with a barbecue.
The Year 1 went to Trebah gardens for the day. They were looking at the different environments and exploring their senses.
The Reception class went to Trevaskis farm as part of their topic work in June. They had a lovely day and saw how busy everybody is on a farm – even the animals!
Throughout the year, children across the school go on all sorts of trips to support the work they are doing in class. We feel it is really important for children to get these first hand experiences and endeavour to build these events into our curriculum.
Here are some images taken from previous camps.
